Design & Layout
Layouts for small Idaho bathrooms, plus niches, benches and storage that get detailed correctly.
Shower layouts that work in small Idaho bathrooms
In a small bathroom, the shower layout is decided by the door swing, the vanity and the drain. The reliable options are the standard 60-inch alcove with a fixed glass panel, a corner shower with an entry off the diagonal, and a curbless run-through where the floor allows. Full-height tile and a single glass panel make a compact room feel bigger than a framed door does.

A niche and a bench are both holes cut in a waterproofed wall, so both live or die on detailing. Put the niche out of the direct spray, slope its sill so water runs out, align it with the tile layout, and waterproof every inside corner before tile. A bench needs a solid substrate, a slight slope, and full membrane coverage under the tile.
