Shower remodeling is all we do
Replace a shower that has started leaking, turn an unused tub alcove into a walk-in shower, or rebuild a wet area properly from the studs out. One trade, one room, done in days rather than months.

Tub-to-Shower Conversion — Boise North End
A 1920s North End bathroom where the original cast-iron tub came out and a low-curb tiled shower went in, inside the same 60-inch alcove and the same tight floor plan.

Leaking Shower Pan Rebuild — Nampa, Idaho
A stain on the ceiling below the bathroom traced to a mortar-bed pan with no usable membrane. The wet area was stripped to framing and rebuilt as a fully bonded system.

What a specialist crew changes
One room, measured properly
Every project starts with the actual alcove: framing, drain location, slope, door swing and where the glass can land. Layout decisions come before material shopping.
Waterproofing you can point to
The membrane, pan and corners are photographed before tile goes on, so you know exactly what is protecting the framing behind your finished wall.
Tile set for the long run
Full coverage under large-format tile, planned niche and bench falls, and grout chosen for Idaho's hard water rather than for a showroom photo.

Where we work
Shower construction is local: a 1970s Boise bench ranch, a 2015 Meridian subdivision alcove and a Middleton farmhouse all fail in different ways. Each city page covers the housing, the water and the permit office.

What actually drives shower remodel cost in Idaho
Shower remodel cost is driven by six things: the size of the wet area, whether the drain or valve moves, what is found behind the old tile, the waterproofing system, the tile format and layout, and the glass. Finishes get all the attention, but drain relocation and hidden damage are what move a quote the most.
Read the guideHow long a shower remodel takes, day by day
Most single-shower projects take one to two and a half weeks on site. The schedule is set less by labor than by waiting: waterproofing and mortar need to cure, grout needs to cure, and glass is fabricated only after the finished walls are measured.
Read the guideSeven signs your shower is leaking behind the tile
A shower usually leaks for months before anything is visible. The early signals are hollow-sounding tile, grout cracks that return to the same corner, chalky white efflorescence in the grout lines, a musty smell that survives cleaning, loose or flexing floor tile, peeling paint on the far side of the shower wall, and stains on the ceiling below.
Read the guideShower waterproofing systems, explained plainly
Three systems dominate modern shower construction: bonded sheet membranes, liquid-applied membranes and waterproof foam boards with sealed seams. All three work. What separates a lasting shower from a failing one is continuity through corners, penetrations and the drain connection, plus a pan that actually slopes to the drain.

What we will not put on this page
- Shower pricing depends on the size of the wet area, the condition behind the tile and the materials you choose, so figures come after a walkthrough — never from a page like this one.
- Idaho contractor registration RCE-57919. $5,000,000 general liability insurance. Certificates are provided in writing with your estimate.
Shower remodeling questions we get weekly
- Do you only do showers?
- Yes. Shower Remodel Idaho plans and builds shower spaces: replacing a failing shower, converting a tub alcove, building a walk-in or curbless shower, waterproofing the wet area and setting the tile. We do not take on whole-house remodels, so the crew sees the same details every week.
- Where do you work?
- Across the Treasure Valley — Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Eagle, Star, Kuna, Garden City, Middleton and Emmett. Each city has its own page describing the housing stock and permit office we deal with there.
- How much does a shower remodel cost in Idaho?
- Shower pricing depends on the size of the wet area, the condition behind the tile and the materials you choose, so figures come after a walkthrough — never from a page like this one.
- Can you tell whether my shower is leaking before demolition?
- We can read the symptoms — loose tile, a spongy floor at the curb, staining on the ceiling below, grout that keeps darkening — and narrow the likely cause. What is actually behind the wall is confirmed once the tile comes off, and we walk you through what we find before rebuilding.
- How long will my bathroom be out of use?
- A single shower rebuild is usually a matter of days on site plus curing and waterproof-testing time, not weeks. The day-by-day breakdown is in our timeline guide, and your estimate lists the schedule we expect for your room.
