Seven signs your shower is leaking behind the tile
A shower usually leaks for months before anything is visible. The early signals are hollow-sounding tile, grout cracks that return to the same corner, chalky white efflorescence in the grout lines, a musty smell that survives cleaning, loose or flexing floor tile, peeling paint on the far side of the shower wall, and stains on the ceiling below.
